Highlighted International Cooperation Activities of Ha Long University in May 2024
Ha Long University carried out surveys on training needs and interest in Japanese culture and language
On the morning of May 30, 2024, Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep (Rector of Ha Long University) and representatives from several affiliated units of the University hosted and worked with the TOA Soken Public Interest Organization, led by Mr. Ueyama Shigeo (Executive Director of TOA).

The delegation from TOA Soken Public Interest Organization discussed issues related to the development of Ha Long Universit’s Japanese Language and Culture Center.
During the working session, the delegation from the TOA Soken Public Interest Organization and Ha Long University exchanged views, discussed, and conducted surveys among the university’s staff, lecturers, students, and pupils regarding training needs and interest in Japanese culture and language. They also consulted with the Department of Finance on budget and financial mechanisms to support the development plan for the Japanese Language and Culture Center at Ha Long University.
Ha Long University welcomed and collaborated with the delegation from the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists’ Association and the Thai Local Media Association.
On the morning of May 29, 2024, Associate Professor Hoang Thi Thu Giang (Vice Rector of Ha Long University) along with representatives from various units within the University hosted and worked with the delegation from the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists’ Association and the Thai Local Media Association.
The Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists’ Association was led by Journalist Do Ngoc Ha (Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists’ Association), while the delegation from the Thai Local Media Association was led by Mr. Jaran Rungmanee (Chairman of the Thai Local Media Association).

Associate Professor Hoang Thi Thu Giang (Vice Rector of the University) welcomed the delegation.
During the working session, all parties exchanged ideas and discussed issues concerning collaboration among Ha Long University, the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists’ Association, and the Thai Local Media Association. The focus was on providing opportunities for students majoring in Journalism and Communication at the Faculty of Education to gain practical experience, internships, and work placements at reputable media centers both domestically and internationally. This includes organizing training courses to help Ha Long University students improve their skills, as well as establishing collaborative programs and student and faculty exchanges with Thai universities.

The delegation visited Ha Long University’s library and spoke with journalism and communication students from the Faculty of Education.
Ha Long University collaborates with Guangxi University for Nationalities, China
On the morning of May 27, 2024, Associate Professor Pham Quy Giang (Head of the International Cooperation and Scientific Management Department) along with the leadership and faculty members of the Chinese Language Department – Faculty of Foreign Languages worked with the delegation from Guangxi University for Nationalities, led by Ms. Zhou Yan Xian (Director of the International Education Institute).

Ms. Zhou Yan Xian, Director of the International Education Institute at Guangxi University for Nationalities, delivered a speech at the working session.
Representatives from both universities expressed their desire to discuss and agree on opportunities for collaboration in exchange programs, as well as the introduction of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, during the working session. They also talked about international cooperation, student exchanges, and the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding to lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation in the near future.
